The way we work makes us different.
The company created a flat grid-like organizational structure: no hierarchy, no pre-defined information delivery channels; instead, we communicate directly with each other and are responsible for team colleagues with a variety of expertise.
How are these achieved? Colleagues (rather than employees) are employed in the overall work area, and under the guidance of their sponsors (rather than the bosses), they continue to deepen their understanding of opportunities and team goals, seek projects that are commensurate with their capabilities, and commit to accountability. All of this is done in an environment that is both free and cooperative, independent and collaborative.
Everyone can quickly win trust and develop and implement projects. The sponsor helps colleagues develop an organizational plan that is both self-fulfilling and contributes to the company. Leaders may be appointed, but this is defined by the presence or absence of "followers." More often than not, leaders are naturally generated by demonstrating their expertise, capabilities and experience to advance business goals.
